Full-day camp open to ages 6 - 9 and 10-14. Age groups alternate each week. Features amphibian and reptile encounters, training on how to handle and care for these animals, and education on reptile and amphibian families. Parents are responsible for providing a nut-free lunch for their child.

Our traditional nature camp offering for children ages 4 - 9. Please note, the Full-Day option and the Afternoon Paint Box Mystery Camp are only open to children ages 5- 9. Children under the age of 5 may only attend half-day and Lunch Bunch. Activities focus on outdoor immersion and inquiry based exploration. Paint Box Mystery Camp is offered select weeks to full-day campers, and is also available as an afternoon-only camp (1 pm - 4 pm, open to ages 5-12).
Our popular lunch bunch option allows half-day morning or afternoon campers to extend their day from 12 pm - 1 pm. Parents must provide a nut-free lunch. Lunch Bunch is included in the full-day camp fee.
Extended care is available only to children ages 5 and up. Parents using this option pay a one time fee per child for early drop off (8:30 am), late pick up (4:30 pm), or both. Parents may then use the extended care option throughout the summer.

Trailblazers Camp is open to children ages 8 - 13, and runs weekly from 9 am - 4 pm. This camp is designed to offer our older campers increased challenges in the outdoors. Participants will travel to our field education centers for camp, and get to explore the full 30-acres of Blue Heron Nature Preserve. These types of excursions are reserved for our older campers, and reflect their ability to handle increased challenges and broader world experiences than our younger campers.

Nature Weeks for young children ages 2-4, focusing on sensory experiences in nature. This program is in its second year, and is offered only on Monday, Wednesday and Friday for the summer. Parents must provide diapers and wipes for their non-potty trained children. Little Blue Herons is from 9 am - 12 pm, but can be extended to 1 pm with the addition of Lunch Bunch. Parents must provide their child with a nut-free lunch.

A Blue Heron Naturalist will lead after school activities outside at Parkside every Thursday for 8 weeks from 3-4:30 pm
