This program is for teens ages 13-17 years old who would like to learn more about the art and science of nature, as well as develop leadership skills in an outdoor setting. This is an opportunity to get outside, discover nature, develop conservation projects, and build friendships through fun and engaging challenges every week!
Description
Our Youth Conservation Leaders Program is for teens ages 13-17 years old who would like to learn more about the art and science of nature while developing the leadership skills necessary to become future stewards of the natural world. This program, which was piloted in 2020, has expanded to include visits from expert guests and individual and group conservation projects. This is an opportunity to get outside, discover nature, and build friendships through fun and engaging challenges every week!
Covid-19 Safety Measures:

Program will be entirely outdoors. In the case of inclement weather, students will be spread out in our large Land O’ Lakes Field Research Center.

Masks will be required for Blue Heron staff and participants

All shared supplies will be sanitized between each use

Access to bathrooms are limited.

There will be 1 Blue Heron educator per 6 participants. Max 12 participants.
Program Dates: 12 week program meets weekly on Mondays from 4:00-5:30 pm beginning January 25th and ending May 3rd (No meetings on Feb. 15th, March 15th, and April 5th for school breaks)
Program Cost: $375/ student
