  • $65 per child for the whole semester (5 sessions total from January to May)

Semester Themes:

Amazing Amphibians, Friday, January 11th. 10 am - 12 pm:

Join the Amphibian Foundation for our first session of the new year!

What is an amphibian? Let's explore what makes a frog a toad, and figure out what that slimy lizard-looking thing is. How do they live? What do they eat? We will dive into the world of the amphibian to figure out how these amazing creatures do some of the most amazing things.

Loving the Lichens, Friday, February 8th. 10 am - 12 pm:

Hosted by Blue Heron Nature Preserve.

Have you ever stopped to look at lichens? We can learn so much from those beautiful green, white and grey patches on rocks and trees! We will enjoy a hike to find them throughout the preserve, use our microscopes, do some nature journaling and find out what we can learn about the environment from them.

The Best Nest, Friday, March 8th. 10 am - 12 pm:

Hosted by Atlanta Audubon Society.

When most people think of nests, they imagine bowl-shaped structures made of leaves and twigs sitting in the crook of a tree, but birds build a wide variety of amazing nests in order to have a warm, protected place to raise their young. Nests can be found in a variety of places from the tops of trees to directly on the ground; some birds even create floating nests! In this Eco-adventure we'll investigate different nesting strategies of birds and other animals, then head out into the Preserve to see what nests we can spot and gather materials to create our very own nests.

Reptile Invasion, Friday, April 12th. 10 am - 12 pm:

Hosted by the Amphibian Foundation.

Did you know that a turtle is a reptile? Did you know that a turtle isn't always a tortoise? Let's look into the world of reptiles. Lizards, geckos, turtles, tortoises and snakes are all reptiles. We will figure out what makes all these animals similar and what makes them different. AND...we will figure out which is your favorite reptile!

Exploring the Watershed, Friday, May 10th. 10 am - 12 pm.

Hosted by Blue Heron Nature Preserve

What can we find in the creek and wetlands of Blue Heron? Come for a Bio Blitz, a scientific scavenger hunt to find as many living things as possible, and discover how diverse the waterways are!
